Aledo Rhubarb Fest

This unique festival, which is 19 years old and growing strong, will feature more than 2,000 homemade Rhubarb Pies for sale, Rhubarb Sampling, 12,000 free Rhubarb seeds given away, crafts, music, entertainment and more all set in our historic downtown.  We're so serious about our Rhubarb that Governor Pat Quinn officially named Aledo the Rhubarb Capital of Illinois!

Friday Events
What to Eat Rhubarb & Otherwise!
10 am - 2 pm Sample everything from Rhubarb Pie to wine a the "The Tasting" under the Big Blue Tent in Central Park and in Aledo businesses.
9 am - 3 pm Rhubarb bake sales in Central Park and in the downtown businesses.
10 am - 2:30 pm Free Trolly Tours - See all that Aledo has to offer by taking a tour of our town.
11 am - 1:30 pm Luncheon at the United Methodist Church-301 N. College Ave. (Details)
11 am - 2 pm First Baptist Church will serve pie and ice cream dessert at the Central Park pavilion.
4 pm - 7 pm Specialty Wine Tasting in Central Park hosted by The Livermore Wine & Martini Bar.

What To Do!
9 am - 4 pm Antique/flea market & craft show - In the parking lot just north of Central Park
10 am - 3 pm Stop by the Aledo Main Street booth in Central Park and pick up your share of 12,000 Rhubarb Seeds and an Aledo Shopping/Service Guide- ALL FREE!
10 am - 4 pm Stop in all the participating businesses to sample rhubarb treats & sign up for drawings.
9 am - 4 pm Book Sale at Mercer Carnegie Library -200 N. College Ave.
10 am - 5 pm Visit the Essley Nobel Museum-1406-SE 2nd Ave

6 am - 10:30 am Aledo Volunteer Firemen serve up warm, delicious pancakes at the Fire Station -200 NE 2nd St.
10 am - 2 pm Sample everything from Rhubarb Pie to wine at the "The Tasting" under the Big Blue Tent in Central Park and in Aledo businesses
9 am - 3 pm Rhubarb bake sales in Central Park and in the downtown businesses.

8 am 5K Rhubarb Run/Walk takes off from the Mercer Co. YMCA - 401 SW 2nd Ave. (Registration Form)
9 am YMCA Little sprouts & 1 mile fun run
9:30 am Alley Art - Be creative, paint a square.
10 am - 2 pm Kids activities including Pony rides, bouncing balloon, dunk tank, Cub Scout Rhubarb Derby, pedal tractor pull and more!
11 am Rhubarb Recipe Contest with Cash Prizes -under the big blue tent in Central Park
1 pm Think you have a Rhubarb Leaf that measures up? Bring it to Central Park for the Big Leaf contest.
10 am - 3 pm Stop by the Aledo Main Street booth in Central Park and pick up your share of 12,000 Rhubarb Seeds and an Aledo Shopping/Service Guide- FREE!
