Aledo Main Street

Aledo Main Street functions on a system known as The Main Street Four Point Approach. Each of the 4 points is addressed by a committee of volunteers. The committees meet monthly to work as a team to address issues and solve problems in our downtown. The following are descriptions of each of the 4 committees:

 

Promotion

The goal of this committee is to create retail promotions, special events, and a positive image of the business district that will bring people back downtown to shop and socialize.

Organization

By working to recruit and retain a large pool of volunteers, this committee ensures that Aledo Main Street remains strong. They are also responsible for raising money to fund projects and maintain a Main Street office.

 

Design

This committee enhances the "streetscape" or physical appearance of the downtown by making or encouraging improvements to buildings, window displays, signage, sidewalks and all other elements that convey a visual message about what the area has to offer.

Economic Restructuring

This committee works to strenghten existing businesses and recruit new ones by providing information and research, identifying opportunities for market growth and developing financial incentives for building rehabilitation and business development.
