The Aledo Main Street Board of Directors have decided to change up this year’s Annual Scholarship Program. We will still give (3) $500 scholarships to Mercer County High School seniors. This year we want to hear why the youth Love the Community in which they live in.
Aledo Main Street will be accepting the scholarship applications from March 6th to March 20th. We will only be accepting 12 applications this year. Applicants will be required to write a minimum 500 word essay from the following prompt “Tell us the reason(s) why you love the community you live in.” They will also need to record a SHORT video telling us about a local place, event, restaurant or shop they love in their community. Aledo Main Street Board of Directors will select some excerpts from each essay for the applicant to read and be recorded for social media and WRMJ.
We believe supporting local businesses and supporting our students is paramount to our community. This is a great opportunity to hear what our local young people think and to be able to share it with our local businesses and community.
Interested students should complete the scholarship application and return it via email to info@aledomainstreet.com or it can be turned into the MCHS guidance office or the Aledo Main Street office.
